About Joy:
Joy grew up in South County of Santa Cruz and has been here for 40 years. She is a Social Justice activist, advocate, and engaged community member here in Santa Cruz California.  She is the recipient of the officer Jim Howes Community Service Award for extraordinary dedication and effectiveness to improve the quality of life for the Santa Cruz community. She has served on various boards over the years and is currently a friend of Walnut Ave. Women's shelter and serves on the Second Harvest food bank board of trustees. 
She is a founding member of The Santa Cruz County Black Coalition for Racial Justice and Equity.
